As we all witness national, state, and local efforts to control the spread and impact of coronavirus COVID-19, we here at Powell Tax Law are also instituting changes. As a leading priority, we have taken measures to protect the safety of our staff and clients by following guidelines set forth by the CDC and by local officials. We have adapted our offerings to accommodate these changes while continuing to ensure that our clients receive the attention and representation they expect.
Beginning today, we are moving forward with plans to provide our clients with the face-to-face contact they count on from our firm, even when we can’t physically meet with you. We are already up and running with a variety of readily available video conferencing tools (such as Skype, Zoom, and FaceTime) that our clients can utilize as we work to provide a continuous legal service to you. Please contact our office to find out more about scheduling a video call.
We ask all our clients to keep in mind that while this public health crisis will eventually end, our tax obligations will definitely continue. For our clients with ongoing IRS tax issues, the current COVID-19 outbreak does provide you with opportunities that we could not have anticipated at the beginning of the year. On March 25, the IRS released details of a new “People First Initiative”, that temporarily changes the landscape for all those with ongoing tax issues.
According to the March 25 IRS press release, “The new IRS People First Initiative provides immediate relief to help people facing uncertainty over taxes.” IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig is quoted in the release, adding “We are temporarily adjusting our processes to help people and businesses during these uncertain times. We are facing this together, and we want to be part of the solution to improve the lives of all people in our country.”
Clearly, this new IRS initiative represents an important opportunity for our clients, and for anyone facing a tax problem. We strongly encourage all our clients to contact us with any questions about their ongoing legal issues with the IRS, and about how the new IRS “People First Initiative” can expedite a favorable resolution to their tax issues.
With each passing day, we remain focused on addressing our client’s ongoing work, as well as the wide range of legal and economic implications of COVID-19 that are developing in real time. We firmly believe that your important cases will move forward even during this public health crisis, and we are fully committed to providing you the best legal service we can.
I want to personally assure you that our firm remains singularly focused on your case and your continued success. If you have any further questions, please contact our office or call at 888-913-9744.
We are open and ready to discuss your IRS tax problem.
